Students of CT Public School Gear up for an
Exchange Program
Students of
Class 10th of CT Public School attended a
Presentation on an ‘Exchange Programme’ offered by
YOUTH FOR UNDERSTANDING YFU (India Chapter). YFU
is a part of worldwide movement of committed
individuals and organizations working together to
prepare young people for their responsibilities
and challenges in a fast changing world. CTPS is
making endeavors that students can be a part of
this prestigious program.
YFU-Youth for
understanding began in 1951 and students willing
to undergo an exchange program can opt. for either
of 8 destinations- Germany, France, USA, Finland,
Belgium, Norway, Switzerland and Netherlands.

The students
will spend 6 months to one year living with a
voluntary host family and studying in that
particular system and undergoing cultural
immersion. Miss. Kimberley, a young college
student from Belgium visited CTPS today along with
Mr. Sukhbir Singh (Regional Director-North India).
She expressed her delight in living in Jalandhar
for the last five months.
The Managing
Director of CT Educational Society, Mr. Manbir
Singh said that the exchange Program will serve as
‘A Learning for Life’ experience for any student
and he hoped CTPS students would benefit most from
this opportunity.
SEMINAR ON SAFETY AND FIRST AID
A seminar on
Safety and First Aid was organized for students of
class IX in which Dr. Gurjeet Kaur acquainted the
students what should be done to the patient on the
spot and what first aid should be provided to the
person suffering from trauma.

She
elaborated all the points and made the students
aware how to deal a case of casuality, fracture,
haemorrhage, epistaxis, snake bite, insect sting,
burns and scalds etc., before rushing the patient
to the hospital and what all first aid should be
provided to the affected person.
She also
introduced a list of things which should be kept
ready in First Aid Box. She also taught the
students how to tie a bandage in case of various
types of injuries and how to move an injured
person without causing a deterioration in his
condition.

The Vice
Principal of the school, Anumita Gosal appreciated
the endeavours of Dr. Gurjeet Kaur in making the
youngsters abreast of knowledge in first Aid and
acknowledged that these things will be helpful to
the student community throughout their life.
SOCCER MATCHES AT CTPS
In
order to channelize the sporting spirit and energy
of the bubbly children, Inter Section Soccer
Matches were organized for Primary Classes of CT
Public School today in the school playground. It
was a tough Combat between the boys of classes I,
II and III and girls hailing from classes I, II
and III. Class I A and I B boys played with great
fervour, attired in Red and Blue and I B won the
match. In the girls category too I B was
victorious.

In
the match played between class II boys, II A was
the winner and in girls’ category, girls of II B
brought laurels to their class.
Likewise in the match played between class III
boys, Boys of III B played with full vigour and
enthusiasm and brought first position for their
class. And in the girls category also girls of III
B emerged as winners.
The soccer matches were witnessed by the Primary
students and their class Incharges. The Vice
Principal of the school, Mrs. Anumita Gosal graced
the occasion with her benign presence. She was
spell bound and elated to see the young kids
rolling in the ground and combating hard for a
victory. She said that each young player was
finicky for the class to win. It was a great day
for the primary students to play and witness these
exciting and interesting Soccer matches.
‘FIRST DISTRICT KARATE- DO CHAMPIONSHIP - 2009
HELD IN CT PUBLIC SCHOOL’
First District Karate-Do Championship-2009 was
organized in the school playground of C T Public
School. About hundred students from different
schools and colleges all over Jalandhar actively
participated in this tournament. The Chief Guest
for the day was Mr. Sohan Lal Papneja, Chairman
Fruit and Vegetable Market, Jalandhar.

Channi, Principal Mrs. Lakhwinder Kaur, Managing
Director Mr.Manbir Singh, Vice Principal Mrs.
Anumita Gosal and many other distinguished
personalities of the city graced the occasion with
their benign presence.
The Karate fight was under the age group 9 years,
11 years, 13 years, 16 years, and above 18 years.
The young Karate champs from various schools
participated in the championship with great
enthusiasm and spirit.
There was a neck to neck competition amongst the
teams in Kata, Kumita and Team Shei. Each
contender put in his best efforts and exhibited
his skilful feat. Team shei received the loudest
applause from the audience. The stage was
performed by the Hardeep Singh, HOD English and
the students in Karate were trained by Coach and
National Games Winner Sahil Papneja, the
ex-student of the school.
The medals and trophies were awarded to the
winners by the Chief Guest .
In
his presidential remarks the Chief Guest remarked
that such like tournaments should be held from
time to time as it motivates the students to learn
the art of self defence and also inculcate the
virtue of being self confident.
The Principal if the school, Mrs. Lakhwinder Kaur
congratulated the awardees for their fabulous
performance and blessed them to do their best, in
the near future.
The Chairman of the school, S. Charanjit Singh
Channi presented mementoes to the chief guest and
other distinguished guests and extended his
heartfelt gratitude to them, for sparing their
precious time from their busy engagements, to
shower their blessings on the winners of the
tournament.
STUDENTS' SUMMIT ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Students of C T Public School participated in a
unique ‘Students summit on Climate change’ here
today in which they showed keen involvement and
understanding of present day climate situation and
factors responsible for it.
The students made two groups: - One group
represented Developed Nations such as U.S.A, Japan
and other nations from EU. The other group
comprised of students representing under developed
and developing nations such as India, China,
Brazil etc.

It
looked almost like a real Summit with students
behaving as responsible leaders raising questions
of WHO IS RESPONSIBLE for climate change? Who has
been emitting most carbon so far? Are China and
India to be blamed while they produce for the
developed nations i.e. the real consumers? The
students prepared slogans, posters and made models
of balanced eco-system and support the need of
more trees on earth.
Unlike the leaders at Copenhagen, these student
leaders representing developed and rich nations
were eager to find solutions and to support
financially the less developed nations to control
the rising temperature. The students reached at an
understanding and signed to work not as nations
but as inhabitants of one planet EARTH because the
truth is we need to save It.!
The Managing Director of CT Educational Society,
Mr. Manbir Singh acknowledged the enthusiasm of
the students and the efforts put in by Vice
Principal Mrs. Anumita Gosal & Activity in charge
Ms. Pooja Sharma. He said, “These students are the
torch bearers and very much capable of managing
any situation if we provide them such informative
platform and practical experience.”
CT Public
School's Principal in Japan
Principal CT Public School Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur was chosen as an Indian ambassador
in Japan in Inter Cultural Mix programme called
Genesis, organized by Japanese Govt. students and
educators from Australia, New Zealand, India,
Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Switzerland
stayed in Japan for 18 days.
They were shown different areas of
Japan including Hiroshima whole group was given
peace & anti war message.
Each one from the group was
allotted one Japanese family and there was fine
day’s stay of each member in Host family. There
they lived in pure Japanese tradition, regularly
visited allotted school enjoyed their food &
hospitality. It was real Inter Cultural mix.
Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, being the
Indian representative there met SP and Mayor of
Hamamatsu prefecture. She gave presentations on
Indian traditions and modern development and
talked about world peace and other International
issues. She appreciated the efforts of Japanese
government for spreading the message of
brotherhood to third World countries.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED IN CT KINDERGARTEN
In
order to inculcate the qualities of understanding,
sharing, tolerance and brotherhood, the birth of
Lord Jesus i.e. Christmas was celebrated in the
kindergarten of CT Public School amidst great pomp
and fervour. The kindergarten was decorated with
stars and snow and it gave the look of a
fairyland. All the children of Nursery, L.K.G &
U.K.G and classes I to III came dressed up as ‘Santas’.

An
enactment was presented by teachers and students
of Kindergarten about the birth of baby Jesus in
order to free humanity from the suffering of the
tyrants of the time. Santa Claus came and
distributed gifts to one and all. All the children
sang Christmas Carols and danced to the tune of
“Jingle Bells”. A Christmas Cake was cut and
relished by Co-Chairperson of CT Educational
Society, Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi, Mrs. Tanika
Channi, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur (Principal) and all
the teachers and students.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
wished Merry Christmas to one and all and said,
“Celebration of festivals is also a learning
process for the young minds. We must inculcate
good values preached by Almighty Jesus Christ”.
