Labour
Day Celebrated in CTPS
Labour is the essence of life. Even the sweeper’s work
is as much sacred as that of a lawyer, a teacher or a
surgeon. “Man is a worker. If he is not, he is
nothing.”

May 1 (May Day) was celebrated in CT Public School as
Labour Day and Principal’s Day in a novel way. Realising
the fact that our gardeners, sweepers, attendants are an
important rung of our social ladder, the Principal,
teachers and students made them feel very special today.

First Madam Principal, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur gave a
bouquet of flowers to the attendants. Then she walked
with the total team to the assembly where all the
employees were welcomed on to the stage very
respectfully. A talk on Dignity of Lobour was delivered
by Mrs. Arvinder Kaur. All the teachers pinned badges on
to the class IV employees and wished them HAPPY LABOUR
DAY.
The students acknowledged that they could not get things
done without those who do physical labour. So, laddoos
were distributed by students to the workers. Then
teachers, including the Principal of the school, Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur and Vice-Principal Mrs. Anumita Gosal,
served Sharbat in school café to the workers.
All the teachers also wished Principal Madam HAPPY
PRINCIPAL’S DAY and presented their love and respect
through flowers and a card.

According to the Principal of the school, Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur, “The labour of each worker needs to be
acknowledged and celebrated. They make life so much
smoother for us that we don’t even realize that they are
there! The respect of the labour must be inculcated in
our students so that they understand that no work is
small. Whatever the job, that person is great who gives
his best to it.”
