Paper Presentation on 'CANCER' and 'EDUCATIONAL
REFORMS' by Teachers of CT Public School
Teachers of CT Public School are constantly motivated
by the Chairman of CT Educational Society, S Charanjit
Singh Channi and the Principal Mrs.Lakhvinder Kaur to
enhance their knowledge and to grow academically.
For the same reason, a Paper Presentation series has
been designed. The first session was held today with the
Science Department’s presentation or the topic: Cancer –
Its History, Causes, Effects, Research, Cure and
Preventive Measures.

H.O.D (Science) Mrs. Puneet Madaan, PGT Chemistry, Mrs.
Maninder Kaur (PGT Biology), Miss. Inderjit Kaur (PGT
Physics) gave a very informative session. The second
Paper was presented by Mr. Sudhir Arora (HOD
Mathematics) and he spoke on the topic: Educational
Reforms – Do we really need them?
The Paper Presentation Session was presided over by Dr.
Reeta Jairath (M.D) Skin and VD Specialist (Presently,
serving as District Immunization Officer). Dr. D.R Vij,
eminent educationist of India also graced the occasion
with his presence. In her Presidential remarks, Dr.Reeta
Jairath stressed upon the need of spreading
awareness among the young generation about increased
risk of cancer due to consumption of tobacco products,
alcohol and stress.
Dr. D.R Vij motivated the young educators and said that
there is always a scope for reforms but more important
is to implement them.

Principal of the school, Mrs.Lakhvinder Kaur thanked the
guests and appreciated the efforts of the teachers.
Prof. S. C. Khurana, stressed the need for all teachers
to keep growing academically. Also present on the
occasion were Vice Principal Mrs. Anumita Gosal,
Kindergarten in Charge Mrs. Anuradha Sharma and all the
teachers of the school.
SWIMMERS OF C T Public School OUTSHINE IN CBSE NORTH
ZONE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP
CBSE North Zone Swimming Championship (2009-10) was
organized at Pratap World School, Pathankot from
September 18 to September 20 in which 68 school teams
participated with great zest and zeal. About 110 events
were held and 450 participants participated
enthusiastically in this North Zone Championship.

In Under 16 category from the Boys section, Shaurya
Pratap Singh Khurana bagged two Gold Medals and One
Silver in 50mts. Breast stroke, 100mts. Breast stroke
and 200mts. Breast Stroke.
In Under 19 category from the Girls section, Ramanpreet
Kaur participated in 50mts Breast stroke, 200mts Breast
stroke and 100mts Breast stroke and won two Silver and
one Bronze medal.
In Under 16 category from Girls section, Amanpreet Kaur
participated in 200mts Breast Stroke and won a Bronze
medal where as Vishavpreet Kaur participated in 800mts
Free Style swimming and earned a Bronze medal. The above
mentioned winners were trained by Mr. Rahul under the
able guidance and supervision of Mr. Dinesh Rajoria. Out
of 68 school teams, the CTPS team bagged 16th position.
It is a matter of great pride that Shaurya Partap Singh
and Ramanpreet Kaur of CT Public School have been
selected to represent North Zone at the National Level
Championship.
The Principal of the
school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur and Managing Director Mr.
Manbir Singh felt elated at the great success achieved
by the budding swimmers. Madam Principal congratulated
and blessed the winners of the CBSE North Zone Swimming
Championship and exhorted the swimmers to take more
pains to have gains, in the near future.
Dusshera Celebrated in CT Kindergarten
The festival of Dusshera was celebrated in the
Kindergarten of CT Public School. The tiny tots of Pre
Nursery, Nursery, L.K.G and U.K.G along with students of
I, II, and III classes watched with complete enthusiasm
as the Principal of school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur set the
effigy of Ravana on fire.

She gave the message of victory of good over evil to the
students in very simple words. Devoutional Songs in
praise of Lord Rama were played and there was festivity
in the air.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur said,
“Celebration of festivals is a vital segment of
education. Young ones learn a lot about tradition,
culture, religion and history through such
celebrations.”
CT SWIMMERS BAG RUNNERS TROPHY
Under the banner of Punjab Schools, District Swimming
Jalandhar in which about sixteen schools swimming teams
participated with great fervour and zeal. Nine swimmers
from CT Public School participated in the District
Championship and brought laurels to their Alma Mater.
Our budding swimmers not only earned a place and bagged
Runners Trophy in the Championship but also have been
selected for State Level Championship which is going to
be held at Sangrur from October 12 to October 14, 2009.

Under 17 Shaurya Pratap Singh Khurana bagged 3 Gold in
50 mts. Breast Stroke, 100 mts. & 200 mts. Breast
stroke. Likewise Ramandeep Kaur also earned 3 Fold, in
the same events, to her credit Under 19 Vishavpreet Kaur
bagged 2 Gold in 50 mts. & 100 mts. Free Style and Under
19 boys, Gudeep Singh bagged One Gold, One Silver and
one Bronze. Under the able guidance one HOD sports,
Sardar Lakhvir Singh and the coaches Dinesh Rajouria and
Rahul the swimmers were trained for the Championship.
It’s an honour to the school as Runners Trophy was
bagged by CT Public School.
In the girls section, Under 19 Girls emerged victorious
as they bagged the Over all championship. Boys under 17
bagged the Second position and under 19, the third
position seeing marvelous performance, the Managing
Director Mr. Manbir Singh & Principal of school Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur bestowed their blessings on the winner
team and extended their felicitations. The Principal
exhorted the students to practice a lot and polish their
skills so that they do wonders at Sangrur in the State
Championship which is going to commence in the month of
October.
Fancy Dress Competition Held at CTPS
A Fancy Dress Competition for classes I, II & III was
organized in the Meeting Hall on September 16,2009 in
the premises of CT Public School. It was a big feast to
the eyes of the spectators, seeing the junior students
attired in various colorful outfits.

The Children of classes I, II & III participated in the
competition with great zest and enthusiasm and made the
environment rejoiced. These little champs did full
justification with their roles, they played. A child was
dressed up as a flower and conveyed the message of peace
and prosperity.The other one in the form of a polluted
river, showing the agony of its lost purity. A tube of
Colgate made everyone dance, yet another disguised as
Electricity, made everyone aware of its usage and saving
power. The cries of the bemoaning Earth were heard aloud
and Time told the audience that it’s very precious and
one shouldn’t waste it lavishly.

The judgment was a very tough job and it was given by
Mr. Vivek Tiwari, Ms. Seema and Ms. Mandeep Kaur. The

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated the winners and was highly impressed by
the dialogue delivery of every contender. She also
appreciated the laudable endeavours put in by the class
teachers and the parents in preparing their wards.
Everyone appreciated the efforts of each contestant and
the Fancy Dress Competition was a great success.
CT KINDERGARTEN IN McDONALDS
Tiny Tots of CT Kindergarten visited McDonalds to enjoy
the lush green surroundings and yummy burgers, fries and
shakes. Students were taught to order, pay and pick the
stuff themselves. They had a rhyme session there and
also watched the process of making burgers. It was
certainly a learning experience for the little ones.

Students enjoyed to the fullest and came back to school
in flying colours.

According to the Principal, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, such
trips rejuvenate the students and help them to be good
learners.
ACADEMIC PAPERS PRESENTED ON IMPLEMENTATION OF LAWS &
USES OF SCIENCE BY TEACHERS OF C T PUBLIC SCHOOL
Keeping alive the tradition of Academic Paper
Presentation, teachers of C T Public School
participated today in the second phase. This is an
effective step taken by the Chairman of C T Educational
Society, S. Charanjit Singh Channi and the Principal,
Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur to enhance the knowledge of the
teachers.
Mrs. Sakshi Dhingra (PGT Commerce) gave a very effective
and informative session regarding ‘Effective
Implementation of Laws instead of Framing New Laws’.
Along with her was Mr. Sanjesh Kumar who over whelmed
the audience with his fantastic as well as informative
ideas on ‘Use of Science in Every day life’.
This paper presentation was presided over by Mr. Sandeep
Kamal Singh Chabbra, Advocate Punjab and Haryana High
Court. In his Presidential remarks, he highlighted the
necessity of imbibing the awareness about laws among all
the citizens especially the young generation. He
appreciated the endeavours of the school.
Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur thanked
the guest and had all the commendations for the
teachers.
Prof. S.C Khurana congratulated the teachers and
remarked that such presentations are really going to
enhance the knowledge of the teachers.
This occasion was also graced by the presence of the
Vice Principal of the school, Mrs. Anumita Gosal,
Kindergarten Incharge, Mrs. Anuradha Sharma and all the
faculty members.
Teacher’s Day Celebrated at CT Public School Hostel
Teachers
Day was celebrated with zeal and fervor in the premises
of CTPS Hostel. The Students’ Council of CT Hostel
organized this show in honor of their teachers. The
whole function was beautifully organized by Ramandeep
Kaur of XI- Commerce as Chief Co-ordinator with the full
co-ordination of other office-bearers.

The
attractions of the celebrations were Welcome and
Teacher’s Day speech delivered by Abhay Behl. Dance
items given by Shanky, Shivam and Vishali Jassal
mesmerized the audience. The games for the teacher’s
added sweet flavour to the fun recipe which was enjoyed
not only by the teachers but one and all present there.
Modeling show of the teachers was an excellent event.
Later, Teachers were given Compliments by playing songs
which was full of fun.

Mrs.
Parminder Kaur, Co-Chairperson of CT Group of
Institutions and Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, Principal CTPS
were present there to watch the show. Mrs. Anumita Gosal,
Vice Principal and Mrs.Anuradha Sharma I/C Kindergarten
also joined the celebrations. In the end, Principal Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur appreciated the function and the efforts
put in by the Students’ Council to make this show a
success. She said, “I am glad to see my Hostel Students
presenting such a wonderful show and with so much of
confidence. As a teacher, I wish to see them on the
zenith of success. ” Teachers were given token of love
and honour by the students. The function was followed by
the Birthday Celebration of the hostlers for the months
of August, September and October. It was really a gala
day for the staff and students of CT Hostel.

In her
Presidential remarks, Co –Chairperson of C T Educational
Society Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi said, “These students
are the future of our nation. Celebrating such important
days brings the teachers and the students closer and
they know one another even better. ”
TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATIONS AT CTPS
To mark
and commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Doctor
Radhakrishnam, Teachers Day was celebrated on 4th
September, 2009 at CT Public School. A cultural show
full of excitement & games was organized and presented
by the senior students under the able guidance of
Activity In charge Miss Pooja Sharma and the Head Boy of
the school, Chandandeep Singh.

Chandandeep Singh from XII Science & Miss Harminder Kaur
from XI Com. gave wonderful speech on ‘Why we celebrate
Teacher’s Day’. There after, the students and teachers
presented a colourful function which left the teachers
and Management enthralled. The main attractions of the
day were stitching a button in a minute, writing reverse
ABCD in 30 secs, filling up maximum balloons in a
minute, musical chair and many more.

The
teaching faculty and the Management enjoyed the
programme a lot, presented in their honour as a mark of
respect and gratitude. The Principal of the school Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur was overwhelmed to see the celebrations
rolling on and congratulated the laudable efforts of the
Students’ Council especially Chandandeep Singh and Sajan
Sachdeva. Everyone present enjoyed the Teachers Day
Celebrations to their heart’s content.
SPECIAL AWARDS CEREMONY HELD AT CT PUBLIC SCHOOL
It was a
red letter day in the history of CT Public School as the
Chairman of CT Group of Institutions, S. Charanjit Singh
Channi, and Co-Chairperson Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi
awarded
 
Mr. Sanjesh Kumar and Kindergarten In charge
Mrs. Anuradha Sharma with Chairman’s Award comprising a
Medal and a cash prize of Rs.5000 each for their
services to the school.
Four
teachers were awarded Principal’s Award for their
dedication as teachers and for their sincere efforts to
improve the performance of the students in various
fields.

Gurmeet Kaur (Excellent Staff Secretary), Mr. Vivek
Tiwari (Best Anchor of C T Carnival), Miss Mandeep Kaur
(House Master Par Excellence) and

Mrs.
Raman Sharma (Dedicated and Hardworking Teacher)
received Awards and Appreciation Letters from the
Chairman for their services to the School.
Professor S.C Khurana, Senior Advisor, CT Institutions
addressed the teacher’s on this auspicious occasion and
motivated the teaching faculty for imparting best of
education to the future nation builders.

Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated the awardees and motivated the teaching
faculty to work with utmost sincerity as they are the
‘chosen ones’ and this profession still commands maximum
respect.

Chairman of CT Group of Institutions , in his

society and I am sure Awards for hard work is a good
form of motivation.
CT PUBLIC SCHOOL BOYS IN DISTRICT CRICKET TEAM
Cricket
Coaching at CT Public School is bearing excellent
results. Three boys Ginish Sandal, Sukhdeep Singh and
Manmohit Singh have been selected to represent Jalandhar
in the Inter District matches of Under -16 category.

The
Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated the three enthusiastic cricketers and
their coach Mr. Darshan along with the sports department
of the school. She encouraged the other team members
also to work hard and achieve their targets in near
future.
CT Yoga Champions Bring To Her Alma Mater
A two
days Yoga Championship was organized by the Punjab
School Education Board at Police D.A.V Public School on
10th & 11th September 2009 in which yoga teams in and
around Jalandhar participated enthusiastically. Fewer
than 14 categories in Girls section, the team of yoga
performed magnificently and brought laurels to Alma
Mater by bagging First Position at District Level.

It is an
honor to school, to place on record that Shrishti, Rashi
and Sunaina have been selected for the State Level
Competition.
The
Principal of the School Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated the Winners at their towering success and
accentuated them to learn more wonderful frats in yoga,
to perform much better in the near future, to excel and
maintain the record. She also appreciated the laudable
efforts put in by the PTI, Mrs. Parminder Kaur.

The
Managing Director of the school Mr. Manbir Singh also
congratulated the winner team for their thundering
success and remarked that hard work always pays.
HINDI LANGUAGE HONOURED ON HINDI DAY
According to Indian Constitution on
14 September 1949. Hindi Language was approved as our
National Language. Reflecting the importance of Hindi,
CT Public School also observed 14 September as Hindi
Day.

On this
occasion, in the morning assembly, all the proceedings
of the assembly were done in Hindi language only.
Morning assembly included the Thought of the day, Brief
history of Hindi language and a short skit “Birthday of
National Language” reflecting the significance of Hindi
language. Through this skit a message was conveyed that
all languages are equally important for the progress and
prosperity of the nation.
During
the lunch break, in the meeting hall, the teachers of
all departments gathered and they all showed their love
and respect for the National language through poetry,
stories, discussion and by sharing experiences. On this
occasion the worthy Principal of the School Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur appreciated the laudable efforts put in
by the Hindi Dept. for the programme and congratulated
them all. She also encouraged the teaching faculty to
enhance the pure knowledge of the students through
learning and listening via Hindi language. Moreover she
added that we all show our emotions through Language
only. One earns his or her identity through the
effective use of proper language.

On this
auspicious occasion Vice Principal of school Madam
Anumita Gosal, Nursery In charge Mrs. Anuradha Sharma,
Head of Hindi Dept Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur, Miss Mandeep Kaur,
Miss Shalini and other distinguished teachers were
specially present to grace the occasion.
Maneet Randhawa -The Upcoming Artist of CT Public School
National
Painting Competition was organized by Distt. Child
Welfare Council at Red Cross Bhawan, Jalandhar. Maneet
Kaur Randhawa‘s painting based on the theme
‘Environment’ won her 2nd Position in Category- B.
Maneet’s achievement has added another feather in the
cap of CT Public School which aims at developing the
wholesome personality of its students.

The
Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated Maneet Randhawa and motivated her to
perform better at the next stage as she has been
selected for the Divisional Level to be held at
Hoshiarpur.
